About Our Firm

A modern-day professional law firm and consultancy involved in civil and commercial practice and some criminal practice. Its Founding Managing Partners bring to it a cumulative of thirty (30) plus years’ post-call practice, litigation, consultancy, and international experience combined. The firm continues to establish itself as one with experienced lawyers whose priority focus is on the interest of our clients and ensuring delivery in line with the highest professional standards. Our lawyers are knowledgeable, experienced and ready to assist by providing legal services and consultancies in a professional manner and on a timely basis

Our Law Firm is currently made up of two Founding and Managing Partners, an Associate Legal Counsel and several Junior Counsel engaged in litigation, research, solicitors’ work and consultancy. Our office is also staffed by an experienced office administrator and secretary with over 25-years’ experience in administration of legal offices and two legal clerks.

Our History

Sufian-Kargbo, Pratt & Co. was established in 2019 by our Founding Managing Partners; visionary legal practitioners with a passion for justice and excellence. What began as a small practice in Freetown has grown into one of Sierra Leone's most respected law firms. Our Law Firm is currently made up of two Founding and Managing Partners, an Associate Legal Counsel and several Junior Counsel engaged in litigation, research, solicitors’ work and consultancy. Ms Rhoda Sufian- Kargbo

Managing Partner & Head of Chambers

Ms Rhoda Sufian- Kargbo is a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of Sierra Leone and the Court of … Ms Rhoda Sufian- Kargbo is a Barrister and Solicitor of the High Court of Sierra Leone and the Court of Appeal for Ontario. She is called to the Bars of Ontario, Canada and Sierra Leone. An alumnus of the prestigious Osgoode Hall Law School, York University, Canada and Fourah Bay College, University of Sierra Leone, she holds a Masters of Laws (LLM) in International Human Rights Law (International Criminal Law bias). Before becoming Managing Partner, Ms Kargbo was a Partner in the law firm of Jenkins-Johnson and Co. where she gained wide experience in civil, commercial and criminal domestic practice. Ms Kargbo later entered the international legal arena where she acquired extensive international experience working as Senior Legal Adviser in the Chambers of the United Nations-Backed Special Court for Sierra Leone in Freetown, Sierra Leone and The Hague, Netherlands. During this period, Ms Kargbo headed the legal advice and research team to the Appeals Chamber judges of the ad hoc international criminal tribunal contributing to the establishment of ground-breaking jurisprudence in several areas on international criminal law. She taught International Criminal Law and Procedure at the Serra Leone Law School (Bar Admission Course) from 2010 to 2012 and was an external examiner in International Criminal Law for the Faculty of Law, University of Makeni, Sierra Leone. With her invaluable experience in multiple jurisdictions, Ms Kargbo continues to engage in private legal practice and serving as an international legal consultant to the Residual Special Court for Sierra Leone. She sits on the Advisory Boards of several legal and education- focused organisations in Sierra Leone.
